So what is the Rocky Mountaineer and the difference between the Silver Leaf and the Gold Leaf Service?

The Rocky Mountaineer is a luxury train service that offers two levels of service: Gold Leaf and Silver Leaf. We were able to find some detailed information about both the Gold Leaf and the Silver Leaf Service levels (thanks to the internet!)
-
Gold Leaf Service: The bi-level Gold Leaf Service coach has a dining room and an outdoor viewing platform on the lower level, plus spacious, reclining seats and full-dome windows on the upper level. The upper level is where you can relax, stretch out in comfortable, reclining seats and enjoy complimentary beverages and snacks. There are 4 dedicated hosts who share stories about the areas the train passes through, and serve you meals. The lower level has the dining room and the adjacent galley in which the culinary team prepares multi-course, gourmet meals that will keep you well-fed throughout your journey. Gold Leaf is very social. FYI - Gold Leaf Service coach also has an elevator .

-
Silver Leaf Service: The Silver Leaf Service coach is a single-level train car. Silver Leaf Service coaches offer a generous amount of space for you to stand, stretch or look at the view from the over-sized windows. Your freshly prepared meals, beverages and snacks are served at your seat, and everything is located on one level, no stairs or elevator is needed. You will still have the amazing scenery, world-class service, master storytellers, and complimentary meals, beverages and snacks. Two dedicated onboard Hosts will look after your every need here in this incredibly roomy coach. If the views beckon you outside, or if you just want a breath of fresh air, SilverLeaf Service coaches do have a small, more-enclosed outdoor area that can be shared comfortably by one or two people at a time.

IMPORTANT:
The Gold Leaf Service travelers will not be with the rest of the Colonial Heritage Travel Club group while traveling on the Rocky Mountaineer or in the hotel in Kamloops. They are with the rest of the group in Alberta and British Columbia
